Frozen embryo transfer

 Definition:

When the Cryopreserved embryos, also known as, Frozen Embryos which were created in a full IVF cycle are thawed and transferred to a uterus, the process is termed as Frozen Embryo Transfer.

 Who is eligible?

Ideally, men and women with any hormonal issues or fertility complications are eligible to get their embryos, eggs, oocyte or sperm frozen.

 Side effects:

  • There may be a few side effects like: 
  • Light spotting or bleeding
  • Pelvic pain or cramps
  • Fatigue
  • Tiredness
  • Slight change in vaginal discharge

Duration of the process:

Ideally, it is a 15 minutes procedure and can be done in one visit. However, it takes 6-10 days after ovulation to detect results.
